What should I do if I am arrested?
Phone an attorney or ask any person close to you to phone an attorney. In most instances, it is advisable not to speak, so let your attorney speak on your behalf. If you are being taken to a police station, remove any valuable items, as well as expensive shoes, belts and jewellery.
Do not sign any documentation, except for a warning statement, if applicable.
